"Our preteen and teen guests are leaving tomorrow but we will see them again, probably next month. The little lady woke up and asked where her boys were? She has enjoyed every minute of stealing their legos and chasing after them. I am grateful that all our children including the little lady have been raised that this is normal. Foster siblings are just how we roll. Preteen and teen boys in foster care don't often get placed easily in foster homes. These boys are lucky to have each other and live together. Our county and our surrounding communities need more available foster homes. Would you consider it?"
One year later
I updated our list of foster kids who have stayed with us and we are at 54. The great thing about being part of a community of foster parents is that you often get to stay in touch with kids after they leave your home. We are frequently utilized for emergency placements before they can be placed in a longer term home. It is a good fit for us.
